Rural Rhythm Releases First Single by Brand New Strings
"Merry Go Round" Now Available
From Upcoming Album: "No Strings Attached"

Rural Rhythm Records is very proud to announce the new single, “Merry Go Round” by BRAND NEW STRINGS. The song is from their upcoming album, “NO STRINGS ATTACHED” set for release Feb 9, 2010. “Real bluegrass from the real deal”, says album producer and top bluegrass artist, Steve Gulley. "Merry Go Round" is now available to radio via Airplay Direct and also next week's Fresh Cuts and Key Tracks #6 radio compilation CD.

BRAND NEW STRINGS bring the sounds of East Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains to their music - combining hard drivin’ traditional bluegrass with gospel mountain music as well. Their fine instrumentals and harmony vocals combined with two strong lead vocalists make up this exciting new band. Band members include: Randall Massengill (lead vocals and guitar), Mike Ramsey (lead vocals and mandolin), Tim Tipton (bass), Stuart Wyrick (banjo) and Matt Leadbetter (Resonator Guitar) who also deliver incredible original songs to the complete their fresh new sound.

"This is a band that demands national attention before the release of their debut CD. They embody all the best traits of a modern day bluegrass band with their masterful musicianship and flawless harmonies built from a lifetime of loving and respecting the fathers while reaching to the future with an anticipation that shows in the freshness of their music. You can't go wrong with BRAND NEW STRINGS,” said radio host, Charlie Hansen of CFCY FM 95.1 radio in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada.

The members have all worked together in many other band configurations during the years, including Ramsey and Wyrick touring over 10 years with the gospel bluegrass band, New Road, and Massengill also part of that group for a time. Tipton was a founding and long-time member of the popular group, Blue Moon Rising, which Massengill and Leadbetter were also previous members of as well. These friends came together to form BRAND NEW STRINGS late in 2008 and by February of 2009, they won numerous honors including the Society and Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America’s (SPBGMA) Band Competition plus went on to have a very successful tour season this year despite the tough economic times.
