Alabama Co-Founder and Lead Guitarist Celebrates New Album Release in Heart of Music City, USA
(Nashville, TN - March 19, 2009) - After tearing the roof off The Billy Block Show last Tuesday night, Country Music Hall of Famer Jeff Cook decided he wasn't done 'pickin' on Music City, USA.
Cook and his entourage (Allstar Goodtime Band saxophonist Jim Nelson, 2008 Colgate Country Showdown Champions Nash Street and publicist Don Murry Grubbs) hit Nashville's lower Broadway hard, first making a stop at Legend's Corner. Much to the delight of fellow St. Patrick's day celebrators, Cook announced, "Well I'm not wearing green, but this will have to do," as he pulled his custom made lime-green Parker Fly guitar from its casing. Cook and Nelson took Legends' stage with a rockin' version of the Merle Haggard fan favorite, "Workin' Man's Blues."Legendary Tootsie's Orchid Lounge was the next stop on Cook's honky-tonk blitz. Cook and Nelson, joined on stage by Tootsie's own John Stone, filled the premises with onlookers as they plowed through Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Fishin In the Dark," Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" and Hank Jr.'s "Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound." The former Alabama lead guitarist and fiddler then jumped on keys with a ‘funtryfied' rendition of the Jerry Lee Lewis classic, "Great Balls of Fire.""I couldn't think of a better way of celebrating my album release," says Cook of his St. Patrick's Day pub-crawl. "Now THAT was fun!"Cook and his Allstar Goodtime Band digitally released Ashes Won't Burn the same day.***High resolution photos available upon request(Photo Credit: Randi Radcliff) _____________________________________________________________
